I have a 14 week old Barred Rock pullet named Joon. Now this girl is one of the most.. Ballsy chickens I have ever met. She is wonderfully friendly, and sweet to us people and her sister who is same age and an EE. I have four 9 week old Wyandottes in a seperate coop/run right now. Well Joon was digging at the edge of the run, and one of my new girls was investigating the spot and had her beak down. Well somehow Joon pecked this little girl RIGHT on her beak, the little girl screamed, and all four Wyandottes barreled into the coop and out of the run. I am hoping this is not a sign of things to come lol. Nobody was hurt, but the Wyandottes are very cautious now, or were a little while ago. They seemed to have relaxed, but I hope everybody gets along in a week or two when I introduce them all. The pecking from older ranking birds to new girls is normal right? As long as there is no bloodshed all is fine, right?
