Pop door

I just installed a new pop door in one of my coops. I fixed it 3 feet off floor my chickens don't want to use it. How high up do you have your pop door?

Mine are all at floor level with a board across the bottom to retain the bedding.
Why would you put it 3 feet in the air? They aren't pigeons, they're ground dwelling birds.

Some of my buildings floors are well above ground level and even with the door bottoms at floor level, the chickens don't want to venture out without good ramps.

I put good ramps on inside and outside. I have several friends have pop doors up high and it works for them

That may well be, but what is the purpose?

Dogs would not go up the ramp

That's the small door that the chickens use for egress.

Not just an "opening" but a door? I have a 16" tall opening on the bottom north side of my coop...with a "door" I slide in place at night to keep predators out.

I think that's what most people call a pop door.

Our pop door is floor level inside with a shallow ramp to the run.
