Hi all---at the feedstore I picked up some pigeon food as a treat for my girls. It consists of some safflower seeds, millet, cracked corn, and small whole dried peas as well as small dried whole corn kernels like popcorn. I'm wondering if the whole dried popcorn kernels and the whole dried peas would be OK for them. It looks like the kind of thing I'd like if I was a chicken!
Also, what do you think about giving the wild birdseed that is for larger wild birds that has shelled black sunflower seeds in it--are the shells OK?
Lastly, do they need extra grit to digest these types of treats?

Thanks so much for all your ideas!!

Either one will work. Mine go crazy over bird seed. They eat shells and all. Grit would be useful in aid of digestion, if they have access to dirt, that should be sufficent, unless it is dirt without rocks and sand in it. (potting soil/top soil)

well, it turns out that they don't even like the dried whole peas, so they leave that. The popcorn is hit and miss. They have access to dirt but I think I may just offer some extra grit.
