I thought she was deprived of food from the others in the brooder & picked on. But now that I have her inside & eating some scrambled egg & she is getting some strength back, she will be standing & all of a sudden she falls to the floor & starts flailing big time, her wings spread out as far as they could go. Her head is laid down on the floor & her eyes look....well not right. She does this for a while & I have to pick her up & calm her down & then she is fine. Do chicks/chickens have seizures ever? I don't know what to think or what to do. Any ideas?
Well.... I don't want to freak you out but check out this page and see if the symptoms seem like yours. http://animalscience.ucdavis.edu/avian/mareks2.pdf If not, maybe it's trying to take a dust bath??
I remember your previous thread about this chick. I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you. Have you tried to search on BYC for seizures? She may have been excluded from eating by the others because they sensed that something was wrong with her. This is common in flock animals, to exclude a weak or sick member. Do keep us posted...
Quote:It doesn't seem like that is what she has. They must just be weak, they were the smaller ones when I got them from Ideal. I really don't know what to do with them. I will search more for seizures.
