I found this picture online years ago and have dreamt of such eggs ever since.

Now that I'm finally starting my flock, I want to see everyone's funky colored eggs! Spotted, colored, whatever you have! I've even heard of mauve eggs; I'd love to see one!

Today's Eggs - the two on top are from my Australorps, the one on the bottom is from one of my Dominiques.
I'll have a more inetresting variaty when my EE and maybe even my glw, start to lay; but I do like the Dominiques Speckled eggs.

    kerr, that's a beautiful yolk!

barg, what an interesting egg. Are the white speckles caused by extra layers of shell deposited on top of the brown, perhaps?

This is Squealer's first egg. She's a Barred Rock. She always lays those spotty ones, the spots are just a genetics thing. Not all of my Barred Rocks lay eggs with spots but Boo (BR) lays them with purple spots sometimes.

Here's a mix of what my eggs look like everyday:

Neither of my EEs is laying yet at 27 weeks, so no great color yet [IMG]

I have been saving all the oddball sizes and shapes and blowing the eggs to make a collection, big, little, spotted brown and white and purple:
