Produce stand gave me todays throw always for free hae some questions

They gave me a bushel of greenbeans. Can the girls eat them raw? I going to freeze them for this winter to feed and didn't know if I need to cook them first before freezing.

All beans need to be cooked for your chickens. They have a toxin in them that will be removed by the cooking process, making them totally safe.

Thank you, I also got a bunch of winter squash and pumpkins! they all had small soft spots, I cut the spots off and threw the good stuff in the freezer to feed them this winter. And she said she will call me everyday to come get the squash..all she wants is a dozen eggs.
