At the show this weekend there was a a bird in a production class, is there a standard for the production birds in the SOP or is that just something that they do at state shows? I want my brother to bring our production birds so he can practice fitting birds for the show and communication with judges and just to get the whole experience.

Many fairs have classes for production birds but those birds do not conform to existing standards eg: there is a standard for Rhode Island Reds but production bred Reds do not approach meeting that standard.
Production bred birds at a fair are judged on their perceived productivity eg: length & depth of body in a n egg production female; fullness of breast in a meat bird & of course on overall condition.
