Production Red question

    The production red is the hatchery version of the Rhode Island Red - some people interchange the two terms. The production reds are bred for more eggs - they're not as heavy of a bird and don't have the real dark plumage that the breeder RIRs have.

    I have a production red hen and she is called a Cherry Egger...but we like to call her Scarlett!

    I believe Cherry Eggers are a version of red sex-links.
