I am stumped. I can't find anything online about these issues. A friend contacted me the other day asking if I knew what was going on with her chickens. She has lost 3 of them already. It looks like from the picture, the vent of one just blow out or something. (I'm waiting for permission to post the picture). She asked if it was coccidiosis, but I wasn't sure. All i could find related to it was prolapse vent. She said none of the rest were acting lethargic or had any symptoms. They all died the same way. She also mentioned that they were eating their eggs again. My only guess would be other chickens pecking on them out of boredom??
If you have any suggestions on what it might be, it would be greatly appreciated. Tia.

Location on the planet?

Coccidiosis is a safe bet, given time of year if you and your friend are in the northern hemisphere. I would treat the flock with a coccidiostat with a drench dose for any obviously sick chickens.
