Hello there,
Our flock was attacked by a hawk Tuesday afternoon & we thought one was gone. But 24hrs later we found Rosie hiding & trapped. We brought her in, hosed her off, treated her with vebtracyn & silver honey. We thought she had an injury.
The next day we bathed her, and did the same.
But now it appears to be a prolapse with smelly gleet & necrotic tissue.
The pics did not upload in order. So pic 3 is how we found her. Pic 1 is after we hosed her off day1. Pic 2 is yesterday & pic 4 is today.

We’ve been soaking her in Epsom salts the last 2 days, plain water the days before that.
Treating her with vebtracyn & silver honey daily. Given her sugar water soaks, coating in raw honey. She’s eating, drinking, pooping, walking around & talking to us. She even laid an egg Wednesday.
We’ve been giving her scrambled eggs with meal worms, acv, yogurt & oregano oil.
Water with colloidal silver, hydro hen, acv.

Vet is not possible & we are trying desperately to save this girl.
I read we should cut away the necrotic tissue, but wondering if anyone has experience/advice/videos of that???

What do we do about vent gleet???

And what’s next step on prolapse after we remove necrotic tissue?

Appreciate any an all advice🙏🐓

No, I would not cut anything.

The tissue does not look that bad. Keep up with what you are doing. It's going to take days/weeks to heal.

She doesn't have vent gleet, the discharge is leaking urates. From the vent being damaged.
Urates leaking can have a unique odor, but if you feel she's got an infection, then giving an oral antibiotic would be a good idea. Amoxicillin is a good choice. Dose is 57mg per pound of weight given orally twice a day for 7-10 days.

Just keep the tissue moist like you are doing, eventually the scabs, hardened urates and hopefully the necrotic looking tissue will slough away.

Do start getting some extra calcium into her. 1 Calcium Citrate daily, just pop the pill into her beak and let her swallow.

She can heal and do fine from this. I had an isa brown who looked just like your pics who healed up in a couple weeks with regular cleaning, soaking, ointment and some extra vitamins, separated from the others of course :)
