Prolonged quail incubation time

Hi.

I have quail eggs incubating that should have hatched last night. Half a day later there isn't even a pipped egg.

Is it usual for quail eggs to take more than 17 days incubating?
Is it possible that it is due to the size of the eggs (they're about 15 to 17 grams)?

I know that the eggs are fertile but I haven't incubated quail eggs for some years.

How many calibrated thermometers do you have in your incubator?


You temperature must be off.

Can you candle a few right now to see if there is movement in the air cell?

It sounds like your temperature was low. Never trust the incubator's readings. Always put a calibrated thermometer or three inside.
