I have Cornish X chicks that are 2 weeks old. I have been feeding them a starter feed that is 21% protein. Is this a high enough protein feed? At what age, if any, should I change? What percentage protein should I change to when I do change?

Thanks for the help.

Most people here tend to feed their Cornish standard broiler feed
which is 20 to 22% protein. I just fed a batch 26% protein and it
didn't seem to make any difference.

I think the most important things in Cornish is the actuall bloodlines,
the comfort level you raise them in, and the availability of food and
water.

I have a 30lb feeder about half full and a five gallon waterer that I keep fresh water in, so I should be in good shape. They have a draft free, heat lamp heated area, so they should be comfortable.

That % should be perfect,if you change to grower try to keep % the same. Some feed is listed as Starter/Grower so you can use straight through.I usually buy a bag of starter crumbles on the day of arrival then once the 50lb. bag is gone I use my local mills starter/grower mash mixed with extra protein to get it up to around 20-23%
