    Can anyone tell me what breed this bird is? I saw him on the side of the road had to stop and get a pic. [​IMG]

    The color is black breasted red, and several breeds come in that color. He could be a young Welsummer cockerel. Brown Leghorn is another guess, but they have white earlobes that are usually easy to spot.

    That's definitely a Game cockerel. aka American Game. a breed used in cock fights. They are so common and "all over" so a high percentage of roaming or rescue chickens at animal control are Games.
