I have had three hens die in three months. They are only 18 months old. The first two I believe died of sour crop. The third... I have no idea other than she just kept loosing weight. No matter what I did she kept loosing weight. Now 7-8 of my chickens out of 11 are having unusual poop. Several with full blown diarrhea most with poop that looks like their feed but watered down and mashed. It doesn’t look like they are digesting it properly.
now one has puffy eyes. She’s also molting.
They have access to grit, calcium, clean food and water. They have 18x30ft run and I clean the poop out of their coop daily. I wormed them with safe guard last week. There are no signs of coughing/sneezing or mucus.
I am worried about the puffy eyes and the diarrhea. Any suggestions? I don’t know what to do for them.
