So my little house pullet, Annie, who hatched in November has been broody on a plastic bottle for a few weeks. I kept taking the eggs she was laying away but she found this bottle next to her nest. Ive given her an egg but she ignores the egg and covets the bottle. Today I tried to give her some chicks that were hatching in an incubator. Eventually she warmed up to having them under her but she refuses to give up the bottle. Here are some pics. None are staged.
Here is Annie brooding her bottle. It has chicklet type gum pieces in it.
Annie with one of her chicklets (I call them chicklets because Annie was brooding gum pieces in the bottle. Notice baby sleeping with head on bottle.
