Pullet egg changes color when i touch it?

    Yeah, strange. Blue Splash Maran has layed 3 eggs for me now. I noticed when i hold it in my hand it makes brown marks on it where my fingers lay across it. Then slowly fades away? She lays small brown eggs atm, very strange?

    That's interesting - I have only brown egg layers. But their eggs get lighter colored after in the fridge - guess it's a temperature effect of your hand on the outer shell pigment.

    Some eggs do that, I think it's from moisture on a 'matte' finish egg surface, which could be from thin bloom coating and/or over calcified egg surface.
