This is my first time raising chickens and I am raising 2 Bantam Cochins. They are 5 weeks old, and 2 days apart in age.
The grey/blue chick is a bit more feathered out than the calico chick, yet the calico has a comb that is much further along in development. Would it be safe to assume the calico is a cockerel?

The first one is most definitely a cockerel. The second one has very red wattles but not much color to the comb, which is odd. Try posting updated pics of the blue chick in a couple weeks.

Yes! That seemed odd to me as well. Her wattle has been pinkish for about a week but her comb is yellow.
