Biggie is a 9 week Easter Egger and we've been keeping an eye on its development because it's always been bigger than the rest (hence its name), is more aware than the rest, its comb started developing earlier, is bigger and redder than the other Easter Eggers in the flock. Its the kid's favorite chicken and I've wanted more definitive evidence because our town won't let us keep roosters and letting Biggie go might mean it goes into a stewpot if I can't find a farm to take it (which for a first time chicken owner, feels horrible). It woke me up at 5:23 AM making rooster like sounds. Every 15-30 seconds for 20 minutes. Does that definitively give us the answer that Biggie is a cockerel? IMG_5407.JPG

Yeah, Biggie is a boy no question.:)
If he wasn't crowing just by sight alone he is a boy.

He is a beautiful boy! It's too bad that your neighborhood won't let you keep him!:hit

One of mine let out a couple of little crows this morning! And only 4 weeks old!
