I have a 11-12 weeks old australorp and she/he is making some very crowing like noises every morning around 530/6 am. But she still looks like a pullet to me, but I’m new to chickens so I was wondering if anyone might be able to give me their thoughts on these pictures. Her comb and waddle came in much faster than her tail feathers but she’s the only Australorp we have so I don’t have any other chicks of the same breed to compare her too. We live in a village and can’t have a rooster :( should you be able to tell by this age or should I wait a bit longer?

She looks female to me too and I've heard of dominant hens taking over the crowing when there isn't a rooster in the group....but, I don't know if it's too early to tell for sure.

I am having the same issue with my 12 week old Australorps. I thought they were female but I was told they were male. It’s really hard for me to tell with Australorps

Saddle feathers are beginning to poke through on the OP's bird, and a 12 week old pullet would not have that much comb color.
