I have 5 chicks. 6 weeks old. Bought from a local private hatchery. 2 Buff Orpingtons. 2 Americaunas. One Plymouth Rock. The hatchery told me they could guarantee Orpingtons at about 98%. The Rock at about 95%, and Americaunas about 90%- that they would be hens. If I get a roo they will swap it for a hen, as im not alowed roos in the city where i live. My barred rock, Dorothy, is the smallest of them all. But she feathered probably the quickest. My my 2 Americaunas (who are harder to catch a picture of)- the Brown one is the biggest of them all- but the shyest, her name is Thunderbird. The more black one is Fluff Fluff. There is a more full/fatter orpington named Homerun. The orpinton who looks like shes in those "akward teen years" feathering very slowly (apparently the mother feathered slowly because I've already called the hatchery a little worried, but she eats like crazy) is named Goldilocks. She is the most curious of them all, and top of the pecking order from what I can tell. Can you tell I have children who named them? You guys are chicken experts. Do you think I have all hens?
