Hi All,

This is my first time raising Easter Eggers, and I have a flock of 11. They're about 6 weeks old, and I have one that I think could be a roo. This is Loki the Chickster, and he/she has a much more patchy pattern than the others. Is it too early to say if Loki is a male or female?

It looks like your easter egger is a crested legbar mix. Google that breed's hens, and I think you may be reassured - the hens appear to have that orange-y chest. The males look different. Hope that helps and she turns out to be a pullet!

Oh wow, you might be right about that! Maybe there was a mix up at the hatchery. She came to me as a chipmunk hatchling and looked just like the rest, but now looks totally different.
