Both are approximately 2-3 months old, its hard to tell in the pics but the welsummers feathers are iridescent in the sunlight. The other wellie I have is very muted, doesn't have the same colors at all.

This is a Cali white, or so the feed store says.

I'm really surprised that the wellie is a girl, the tail feathers are coming in blue green, as well as some on the back. Is that normal?

Black feathers can have a blue/green sheen to them. My black copper maran pullet has this sheen on her feathers, and she is definitely a pullet, laying nice dark brown eggs.

I suppose, my other wellie isnt like that at all, her feathers are a soft brown, no sheen at all.

Lol saw a pic of a 2 month old welsummer... she's definitely a girl... that makes 10/10 girls. And I wanted a rooster. Boo.
