I have a pullet Ameracauna not sure her age we were told 6mo when we bought her 3 weeks ago, but still not laying. We noticed her left eye had drainage. We took her out to check and can see she has a scratch on her eyelid. We rinsed the eye with Normal Saline and put triple antibiotic ointment on it. Is there anything else we can do? Please respond all recommendations appreciated. I am new to having chickens and don't know what to do. I have read a lot on this forum and GREAT advice has been given to others.

You did what I would have done, and I would keep applying ointment daily til better. For people, an eye patch helps healing, as it keeps the eye closed and therefore the eyelid doesn't keep brushing away new cells. I've never tried to patch a chicken's eye....

Seperate her if you believe the others will pick on her eye.
