I never formally introduced my group of new chicks I got almost a month ago now. They will be 4 weeks on Friday. I believe I have at least 2 Roos among the girls. I know it’s way too soon to tell, but it’s fun to guess and hear other people guess. I’m going to post a pic of each chick and would love to hear what you all think!! Pics will be below in the comments.

This guy doesn’t have a name yet. I believe he’s one of the Roos. Always been the most out going. He’s an Easter Egger. Comb is bigger and pinker than the other 5 EEs and he has BIG legs. He’s circled in the pics.

Next up will be my suspect Speckled Sussex “pullet”. ;)

I read that SS male chicks take forever to sprout a tale and have more white on the chest. I call this guy “Roo”. He’s little but spunky! He is circled in red. My other SS is named “Coco” and she’s circled in blue. Notice she has a tail and he doesn’t.

Here’s my Salmon Faverolles, Sammy (Green circle), and little BO, Buffy (Blue Circle). Way too soon to say one Buffy. She is tiny compared to the others but I’ve heard it’s a slow growing breed. And I’ve heard by now you can tell the sex on salmon faverolles based on color. Is Sammy a pullet? She’s at such an awkward stage. She’s also so puffy compared to all the other chicks.

Here’s one of the EE pullets. I was calling her Arrow Head because of her head marking when she was a day old...it’s gone now, so she needs a new name soon.

This is Blondie. I’m a little suspicious of her. She’s always causing trouble with my suspect Rooster EE. She’s a big, strong chick. You can see my little SS “Roo” in his typical posture, all stretched tall, in the background of one of the pics haha

This is Vee. I think she’s a pullet just based on comparing her comb with the other EEs. It’s starting to get really pink at the tip all of a sudden though, so who knows!

Last 2 are Owl (green) and Stripey Face (blue). Owl is weirdly small compared to the other EEs. Stripey Face looks exactly like the one I think is a Rooster but she has more markings on her face and a smaller, paler comb.

I think that’s everyone!
