Hi all, it’s been awhile since I posted but I’m needing help again. I’m raising 11 chicks and am wondering if I have a rooster or two or three? Can you please help? This Blue Plymouth Rock I’m pretty sure is a Roo.

Then this is my silver-laced Wyandotte, 4 weeks. Roo or too soon?

Third is my lavender Orpington. Roo?

Fourth and fifth pic is my Olive Egger. He/she has a tuft of feathers at top of head. Is that normal for Olive Eggers?

Both of my Olive Eggers have the tuft.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, OEs do often have crests. First two are cockerels. Update the last two in a few more weeks.

The crest on their head means they probably were crossed with legbars. They have a cute little crest and carry a blue egg gene so are often used to make olive eggers.

I agree your first two look like cockerels, but the others are too early to tell.

Thank you! It’s so exciting to raise chicks and learn all this. Really appreciate your input.

Yes, mohawk (called crest) is normal. Not an indication of sex. I have an Olive Egger too. She's a Crested Cream Legbar X Cuckoo/Black Copper Maran cross that looked like your #4 at 5 weeks. So I think yours is a girl. Can't see comb on your #5.
