pullets? rir?

These are true bred, Standard bred RI Reds. The hatcheries do not sell these birds, neither do the feed stores. They don't sell true Araucana's either, although they call easter eggers that.

None of this makes a bit of difference whatsoever. If your production reds are healthy and you enjoy them? That's all that is important for a backyard flock of pet birds for eggs. I assume you don't have a cockbird and have no intention of breeding your birds? Again, production reds are what hatcheries sell "as" RIR. They are wonderful egg layers. Enjoy them.

The new profile pics are great and confirm what most of us had already thought; they are definitely Production Red pullets. You should get lots of large, brown eggs from them.)

I had a hen go broody, so these were hatched at my place. I'm glad to know what I have, I love them the same as my show d'uccles ;) they have great personality and mom lays amazing. I so enjoy the eggs! :)
