I’m writing this for a friend. She has chicks that are 5-6 weeks old. A dog bit one of them and there is a puncture wound in it’s back. What’s the best way to treat this? Diluted betadine? Thanks!

Hi! I am not sure how to treat this specifically but i had a wound that looked identical to that to my bantam about that size from a hawk. I used hydrogen peroxide to clean it, but was told that wasn’t the best to use.
I used vetericyn plus wound care for it and was told by some more educated people to use neosporin after applying the wound care. I used terrymician because thats what i had on hand, but its very pricy (about $50 for a tiny little squeeze tube) so neosporin with no pain killers would probably work best!
Hope your little on gets better
