Pure Ameracauna?

I was sold this guy being told that he was a purebred. However, someone commented on a previous post saying that he doesn't look like a typical Ameracauna. What do you think? I don't think he is quite a year yet.

Doesn't look purebred to me. Coloring is wrong I believe, though I'm no expert on them.

Am I right to think that chicks from two purebred ameracaunas might not be purebred themselves if the parents coloring didn't go together?

Hmm, I didn't think about that. There is an Americana thread in the General breed discussion forums, maybe someone there might know.

I agree, coloring is wrong and so is the comb. He's probably an Easter Egger.
I honestly don't know how you'd label chicks from two different color Ameraucanas, but I do know that they always have the color identifier in their name. A guy near me has several types of Ameraucanas all in the same breeding pen. He lists them as "mixed" and says what varieties he has.
