Our Black Australorp pullet that was sold to us as a pure breed, is showing a small amount of copper mottling in her neck feathers. Is she what we were told she is?

She looks like one to me...I’d say it’s totally possible she is just a poor quality purebred that a suppressed trait popped up in. Seeing as the roo behind her is pure looking...
Great! Thank you! This is what we thought might be the case.

I think mixed. The copper/red color indicates mixed, and it looks like she might have some white in her earlobes (or it could be glare from the sun). Still a nice looking hen!

I have 2 austrolorps and their eyeballs are straight black. My 2 sex links look similar, but have red and black eyes , like yours. The sex links also have the red feathers under black on their neck, like yours.
