    Hi all.
I have a Pure Bred Rhode Island Red Rooster and have a person living nearby who is selling Light Sussex hybrid hens,
was just wondering even though they are hybrids will the chicks still be sex linked as in male chicks born silver/white and female brown/red?

    Thanks

    Andrew

I have no idea what a hybrid Light Sussex hen is. Why are you calling her a hybrid? What is her parentage?

If you had not said hybrid, yes absolutely, you will get red sex linked chicks. But since you said hybrid, I don’t know.

Maybe. Do a Punnet Square with AA for pure RIR on one side .
BC on the other. B=LS side of the hybrid .
C= unknown side of the hybrid.
Chicks in the squares AB should be sex-linked.
    Just a rough guess.
    Best,
    Karen
