Up for auction is a mature silver sussex rooster. He is indeed a very small rooster because he grew up with a standard cochin rooster in the same pen. One of the roosters always takes dominance, and the other doesn't grow. This rooster doesn't look fully developed, but he is. His appearance won't change the appearance of his chicks (if you plan on hatching). As long as you raise the chicks with no dominant rooster around, the hens and roosters will all be healthy and fully developed.
The only importer of Silver Sussex in the U.S is Greenfire Farms. They sell chicks and juvenile pairs. The juvenile pairs are being sold for 400 dollars a pair, so as you can tell, these are rare birds.
The reason I am selling him is because his hen just died last night due to a small piece of swallowed glass, and I can't keep just the rooster. He is about 6-7 months, and I have raised him since he was 2 weeks old. I do NOT ship, please PM me or email me if you have any questions, thank you in advance and happy bidding.
