Putting chicks together?

I am really new at this and feeling REALLY dumb. I am getting 8 chicks on Tuesday and then 14 more a week later. Can I put the two batches of chicks together or do I need to keep them separate for awhile?? Just curious

I would keep them separate. Just in case of disease or sickness. When sure all are healthy I put mine together if same size or close to same. I have a banty roo {almost full grown} that was too small to put with others so he stays with what ever baby chicks I have at the time. Works for me any way Good luck and have fun.
