We just finished building an intro pen out of PVC today and plan to put it right next to the big coop so the new and old can get accustomed to one another. Just wanted to share some photos in case others needed inspiration.

We recycled the plywood from the first temporary pen we built when we got our first 4 birds. Originally, that pen didn't have a full cover, but with the threat of heavy rains one night, we sacrificed this board for them. Now that they've moved to the grown up pen, we stole this one for ANOTHER pen to use lol. We opted not to use the first pen since it was just wrapped in chicken wire. The new coop is out in the field instead of our fenced backyard. Not interested in losses if we can help it!

We've got to move it to the coop tomorrow, but I wanted pictures tonight lol

The black zip ties will be cut before use. Needed to secure the door to drill the wood into the door and frame to make sure things were flush. We'll find out how well that works for the long term after we move it lol

It's not impenetrable, but it's better than the chicken wire alternative. I've used almost 200 zip ties on this and still want to add a few more.

Now, I'm ready for a few more chickens!

Well great job! I'm so glad you put hard wire on the bottom too, keeps your babies safe!

I might do something like this and set it up on my raised bed gardens. Looks great!

This morning, in anticipation of getting new birds, I moved the pen out next to the big coop. I had to get creative since I was moving it by myself.

Using a cheap, folding dolly worked to give it wheels. Used the included bungees to help stabilize it and pulled it on over to the coop and righted it, the pushed into place.

    In action!

I have a few more things to add to make it livable for them but for the most part, it's functioning well so far.
