When I bought my quail eggs I bought a mixture of “Celadon” “Pansy” and “Jumbo” Coturnix.
I am looking for advice on how to tell what the chicks’ “colour” will be as adults. Does anyone have helpful links?
They are only 8 days old but I am so excited to learn more about genetics, colouring, and egg colour correlations!
Referring to the egg-yolk picture at the bottom:
12 o’clock- Pansy Egg (#2) . Silver Coturnix?
3 o’clock- Pansy/ Celadon Egg (#8). Tuxedo Coturnix?
5, 6, 9 o’clock- Pansy Eggs (#4, #3, #1). Natural Coturnix?
7 o’clock- Celadon Egg (#6). Silver Coturnix?
Thank you for your thoughts and referrals!
