I'm buying a new egg turner and was wondering if a quail egg turner would be better for silkie eggs.
How do they compare in size?
    Thanks

Silkie eggs will not fit in a quail egg turner. They are a tad too big [IMG]

maybe a pheasant turner? since they are bigger then quails but smaller then chickens?

I've never seen a pheasent egg but know the racks are larger then quails and smaller then chickens.

1611M 12VAC Auto Egg Turner with 6 Universal Egg Racks

will hold from quails to ducks eggs (yes I have hatched ducks with them)

will not hold Button Quail eggs

I have hatched so many chicken eggs with whis turner and my Genessis 1588

now i have 44 Georgia giant quail eggs

and using this type of turner

But silkie eggs are bigger than jumbo quail eggs

Quote:IS THIS THE LG/MILLER OLD STYLE WITH METAL RAILS AND PLASTIC FINGER EGG CUPS? IF SO THEY ARE NICE! AND YES THEY HOLD ALMOST ALL EGGS. ALSO HAVE A LARGER CAPACITY THAN OTHER "RAIL" TYPE SYSTEMS WITH THE SAME FOOT PRINT...

NO THATS A STANDARD HOVA TURNER...

THE OLD MILLER/LG TYPE I AM TALKING ABOUT LOOK LIKE THIS...

THESE WERE THE OLD STYLE.. BEFORE THEY WENT TO THE PLASTIC CUPS LIKE THE HOVABATOR YOU POSTED... BOTH ARE GOOD BUT THE OLD STYLE MILLER ACTUALLY HOLDS 48 INSTEAD OF 42. NOTE THE CLOS UP OF THE EGG CUPS--- THEY HAVE SOFT PLASTIC FINGERS THAT WILL EXPAND TO HOLD EVEN LARGE DUCK EGGS-- THEY'RE HARD TO FIND ANYMORE WHICH IS A SHAME BECUASE THEY WERE ACTUALLY A LITTLE BETTER FOR VERSATILITY AND CAPACITY.. USES THE SAME MOTOR AS THE NEW STYLE..
