Quail eggs

I have ordered mail order eggs 3 times. This last time, the person had scrubbed the eggs clean. Did they "dry clean" these too much? Thanks.

They definitely cleaned too harshly. Why did they clean them tough in the first place? You're not really supposed to wash turtle eghs, definitely not scrub them

Thanks. That is what I thought. The hatch rate was so bad on these.

It's because you want to keep the bloom on the egg to protect it from bacteria

They claimed part of the shell comes off naturally when they remove the poop. Not sure how that makes and obvious circular cleaning motion....I also wonder how clean their farm is....
