I'm in the very early stages of research and decision making about raising quail. One thing I'm looking into is what type of enclosure to build. I'm a DIY kinda guy, so I'm handy and can build something from scratch. I've been going through the sticky link that shows different pens, and have seen some great work. One other example I found was this breeder cage video . I'm not looking to start with a ton of birds, maybe 20 max. But this seems like a great way to be able to easily collect the eggs, good feeder/water setup, in general it just looks like it would operate well. However, I haven't seen anyone else build a cage like this - I'm starting to wonder if there's a reason...are there negatives to this setup? The only thing I would change is putting dividers in to separate the birds (which would mean additional feeders and water supply units). Anyone have any feedback on this? Thanks!
