Hi,

I would like to keep 4 quails for eggs.

Is it ok to have only females or is ot more productive to have a male to optimised egg laying.

Just to have an idea,

Is it better to have only 4 females or 4 females and a male.Bearing in mind that I will be rearing them for egg consumption.

Welcome to BYC and the quail forums!

A male is not needed for females to lay eggs and only causes more trouble. It is a myth that the girls need a man around to stimulate egg production. LOL So if all you are after is unfertilized eggs, then you can keep as many females as you wish. :)
