we were on vacation almost 2 weeks and came home to2 very determined broody hens and the quail pen full of egs scatered allover.on a whim i took the quaileggs and put them under the hens. now they have started hatching. i got some quail feed and put 4 babies in a box with a light and pine shavings. but i've never had baby quail before. they are soooo tiny!!! and the cutest things ever.but i dont know if the wood shavings are the right thing, or if they have any other particular needs. also,if i leavesomeof themwith the hens will they raise them? it doesnt seem safe since they are so very tiny and the hens are so big! but the hens seem to want them. i'm open to advice.
