Is there a market for this bird. I heard many people raise quail and sell them? Is this true?

To begin with they are a delicacy. They make a cute little pet.
They are more efficient egg layers than chickens. They are fun
    to hatch and raise.

Hunters use them to train thier bird dogs. Hunters also will purchase
a 1000, drop them off in a field, and play target practice.

I haven't tried making money off them but we eat our extras and
they a SO GOOD. They grow to full size in under 10 weeks.

Lemme know if you want any. I always have too many. 2 roos
and 8 to 10 hens make a great breeding flock.

Not sure where in CT you ae but I'm south of Waterbury and work near Hartford.

But how big are their eggs? Smaller than banty from what I understand.

I think they are neat, but for someone who will not kill/clean her own birds, I'm not sure about the eating thing.

And I have yet to find a reason to have button quail. The only purpose I find with them is the cuteness factor.

    Jes wonderin....

The eggs are much smaller than Bantams. It would take a lot to make an
omelete. Again they are a delicacy so people eat them somehow. We
hatch or eggs or spread the quail disease among our friends here. [IMG]

Button quail are cute little pets. We have enough pets.
