Quail Plucker w/ Hand Drill?

Discussion in 'Quail' started by DaveMorehouse, May 29, 2017.

  1. Hi.

I was wondering if anyone here has made a quail plucker powered with a hand drill. If so, what has been their experience? I also wonder if the softer rubber fingers used for quail would still work with my CX meat birds.

    Thanks, in advance,
    Dave

I just skin mine, less than 3 min a quail.

  3. Agreed. That's the way we process our wild game birds when we hunt. I would like to keep the skin on these if I can though. Thanks for your thoughts. Dave

That is a link to one built for chickens that goes in a hand drill but i would be careful trying to use it on a quail.

  5. Agreed. It seems like the rubber bungees would be too stiff. Perhaps the same setup with the softer quail fingers is what I was thinking. Anyone try it yet?
