Quails using ramps

A hotly debated question! They can use them quite easily and readily but there are a few hints....make the incline as minimal as possible, give them good treads not too far apart, and side rails really help. I find that a nice wide ramp also helps them feel secure.
 
About 7 months ago, I made a two story cage for our two female coturnix, and they constantly go up and down the ramp all day long. Iirc it took less than a week for them to learn it. I think the incentive for them was that the bottom floor is on grass. About once a week we move it to a fresh patch of grass and hose off the area where it was.
