We are still new quail oweners, yet today when we checked up on them we found 2 lying on the ground dead and one hobbling around with feathers dragging behind it. We picked up the two dead ones. One had been plucked on one side to the flesh, dried blood the other we only saw a bloody beak. The third one is inside with us and it too had been plucked on one side. We do live in the desert so we think an animal did this. Thoughts?

Maybe a hawk or other bird of prey. What type of enclosure where they in or were they free ranging?

We do live in las vegas so my guess there are snakes. The hutch foundation was made of wood and wrapped with chicken wire, which was not damaged. After researching I'm thinking it might have been a rat.
