Can I use a Buff Orpington Rooster and a Cuckoo Marans hen to get a black sex-link?
I never heard of that mix creating Black sex-links???
It will work. All you need for black sexlinks is a hen with a barring/cuckoo gene and a rooster that is not solid white and not barred/cuckoo.
I found this, and it shows I can, I am just wondering what they will look like.
They will look like the birds pictured on page two of the above thread.
White skin, single combs. If the Marans have feathered legs, than the offspring should have feathered legs too.
The pullets will have buff leakage on face at hatch no spot, boys will have white face spot on head. I did buff x barred many times.
