I am due to hatch my first egg on next Monday [IMG] If all goes well, when I put the chick outside in the brooder, will it only need the heat lamp at night?
It has been so blooming hot. I was not sure.

You don't want the chick to get below I think 100 for that first week. At least that is how we did it, then 5 degrees down after that. So if it drops below that in the day or night, any time, you would want the heat lamp. Of course with space to move away from it if they are too hot.
