Question about egg laying and older birds

There's an ad on craigslist in my town for 6 laying hens. Ameracuanas. that are 3-5 years old. Molting.. Will they go back to laying.. they only want ten dollars for all birds. I think this is a really good gamble..

Well, ya know, in MY opinion, it's a great deal. I don't really care if my birds are good layers, because I have plenty of them. I didn't get them FOR the eggs, anyway. Mine are pets, all named, and non-laying chickens still eat bugs, provide fertilizer, and make me laugh with their antics.
