    Hi all :)

I *thought* my eggs were from my battery hens x my rooster. None of which have feathers on their feet.
One chick that hatched yesterday is a feather foot. Is it possible to get feathered feet if parents don't?
I have a black hen with feathered feet. Wondering if she is actually the egg layer

If you have a hen with feathered feet, then that's the mother. Feathering on the legs is a dominant gene. If a bird has the gene, it will express.

Okay thanks! I presumed the chick would have to be darker to be hers? The rooster is the one in my profile pic and black hen next to him
