Question about homemade cabinet style incubator fans?

after looking at a number of different designs I think I am going to build a false back into mine the false back will make up to the top shelf at the back top corner however at the bottom the false back will stop 2" before it gets to the bottom/floor. the front of the top shelf will be 2-3" short of hitting the front door the fan will be mounted at the top of the false back blowing at the back of the bator . I am not sure about placement of the heating element or humidity pan at this point in the design spiral LOL I have subscribed to this thread it is good to toss a few ideas around and have someone to bounce them off of, oh yea mine is going to have shelves for two egg turners and one hatching tray

McHenry can you post a pic of yours. Sounds like you have a good idea, I would like to see it. I am still having issues with mine being the same temp on top and bottom.
This is a great thread....next year I want at least an 80% hatch rate!!

You can look at my fan and heating element here, https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=336362
I
blow the air across the heating element and down thru the side edges of top shelf. Air is difused using clear acrylic panels which I drilled multiple small holes for even air distribution. The air is returned to the fan thru a bottm panel, also drilled with multiple holes and underneath the back wall back upto the fan.

Pulling air across a heating element and thru the fan will shorthen the life of any fan because of the extreme heat generated by the heating element.
