Question about young and old

We got our 6 hens and 1roo a week ago. Yesterday we bought 6 1 week od chick. They are in a large rabbit cage in the hen house. Would this cause the hens to stop laying or not?

I don't know for sure, but since it seems that anything out of the norm, adding a bird, removing a bird, changes to the coop etc. can cause a change in production I would guess yes. At least until they adjust to the newcomers. But again, I'm new to this.

I agree with chickman. Chickens don't like change and anything that upsets or changes their routine can stop laying temporarily.

There have been no eggs since the chicks. We took them in the house yesterday until they are older. I guess I have to wait for my girls to feel relaxed again. Live and learn.
