I have just bought food dye to put on 2 of my hen's vents to see which eggs were leyed by them. My question is when do I put it on them? In the evening when they go roost, so they could lay in the morning? But wouldn't the dye dry or disappear overnight? Maybe in the morning before they lay, but I don't have much time in the mornings.
